Michelle Renae Grimit of McMinnville, OR has gone home, leaving behind a circle of those who loved her.

Here is a glimpse of the life she lived, in her family's own remembrance.

There is no greater gift than the one a parent gives by simply being present.

Michelle Renae Grimit, 59, passed away on April 29, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on April 20, 1967, she lived a life centered around family, kindness, and connection.

Michelle worked as head custodian for the McMinnville School District and loved being around children, especially watching her granddaughters grow through grade school.

She is survived by her husband, Jeff Grimit, whom she married on November 3, 2001, in McMinnville, Oregon; her children, Anthony Lowe and Shawna Garrettson; and her stepchildren, Travis and Cody Grimit. She was a proud grandmother and aunt to many beloved grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She is also survived by her mother, Rita King, and was preceded in death by her father, Jerome Lowe.

Michelle enjoyed time at the river, camping, and visiting Maui. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

Services will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, May 16th, at the Chapel of Macy & Son. Interment will take place at Hopewell Cemetery.
