Mr. Horace Lester of Jacksonville, GA, has passed away, leaving behind a family and community who loved him dearly.

Mr. Horace Lester, age 80, of Jacksonville, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2026. He was born on March 31, 1946, to the late Mr. William Lester and Mrs. Leila Mae Lester of Jacksonville, GA. Mr. Lester was a retired veteran of the United States Army, having faithfully served his country for 20 years. His life reflected strength, dedication, and commitment to his family and his service.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Mrs. Evelyn Lester; his daughters, Deborah Rouse of Savannah, Georgia, and Denise Wooten of Glenwood, Georgia; his grandchildren, Kierra Rouse, Keon Rouse, Cameron Wooten, and Caden Wooten; along with other relatives, friends, and loved ones.

Mr. Lester will be remembered with love, honor, and gratitude by all who knew him. His legacy of service, devotion, and family will continue to live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

Services will be held at Rockhill C.M.E Church in Jacksonville, GA on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at 1:00 pm.

There will not be a visitation/wake on Friday.

Remains will lie in state at the church (1) hour prior to services (12-1pm)
