Mr. Richard Louis Walker of Ellwood City, PA, has passed away, leaving behind a family and community who loved him dearly.

Mr. spent his working life as ['Penn-DOT as a heavy equipment operator'] — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew him best.

Richard Louis Walker, 85

Mr. Richard Louis Walker, 85, of Freedom passed away peacefully on Friday, May 1st, 2026 at Lakeview Personnel Care in Darlington.

Mr. Walker was born in Rochester, PA on May 5th, 1940 to the late Louis and Ida (Kirchner) Walker. He had graduated from Freedom High School. For 35 years Richard worked for Penn-DOT as a heavy equipment operator. An outdoors man, Richard enjoyed hunting and fishing, and held memberships at Monaca Rod and Gun Club and Zelienople Harmony Sportsmen's Club.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Mary Jo Hogue of Ellwood City, grandsons and their spouses. Donald R. and Jennifer Hogue, Douglas R. and Hannah Hogue, and Daniel J. and Nicole Hogue, great-grandchildren, Domenik, Braxton, Hadley, Ella, Sadie, Bennett, and Ian Hogue, special nephew Ryan Vincik, niece, Julie Pedaline, and nephews, Jeffrey Lawton and Gregg Lawton.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Ann (Vincik) Walker whom he married on June 17, 1978 and passed away on July 29th, 2024, and his sister, Ruth Lawton.

A private family visitation and Blessing Service will be held at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc.. Inurnment will be at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Freedom.

The family would like to thank the staff at Lakeview Personnel Care and AHN Hospice for the wonderful care they all gave to Richard.
