Mrs. Vileen Robinson "Lulu" Dodson of Danville, VA has gone home, leaving behind a circle of those who loved her.

What you read below is one part of a life lived with quiet purpose.

Mrs. held deeply to the Baptist faith — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew her best.

Belief, when lived, becomes a kind of inheritance.

On the evening of May 1, 2026, Vileen (Lulu) Robinson Dodson departed this life at Sovah Health in Danville, Virginia. She was born on January 22, 1960, to Jesse Willard Robinson and Josephine Ferrell Robinson.

Vileen was born in Vernon Hill, Virginia in Pittsylvania County. She was educated in Pittsylvania County Public School System. She was employed at Ashleys, E-toys and Durham Hosiery.

She was married to the late Daniel Lee Dodson on September 8, 1989.

Vileen was a light to many! A voracious lover of the word, Vileen loved to read, create short stories, outings with her sisters, a DIE-HARD STEELERS FAN, and most importantly a MOTHER who loved spending time with her children. Vileen could have a conversation about ANYTHING! A great conversationalist with a vast knowledge of everything from history, sports, obscure facts and life in general.

She was preceded in death by her three sisters, Jesse "Bessie" Mae Robinson, Reba Gail Robinson and Ola Mae Robinson; her brother Joseph Robinson; her oldest son Daniel QuaVon Jordon Dodson, and her husband Daniel Lee Dodson.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Josephine Danielle Octavia Dodson, Joseph Alexander Xavier Dodson; grandson, Elijah QuaVon Jordon Dodson; her furry grandbaby, NINA; four brothers, Frank Robinson (WA), David Robinson (Zinna) (CO), John Robinson (Michelle) (VA) and Jeremiah Robinson (VA); three sisters; Mary Ann Robinson (VA), Donna Robinson (VA), and Rosa Robinson (VA); three sisters in law, Margaret Robertson, Carolyn Dodson and Alma Dodson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
