Nancy Beth Peterson of Jacksonville, NC has gone home, leaving behind a circle of those who loved her.

Jacksonville – Nancy Sullivan Peterson, (70), of Jacksonville, North Carolina passed away on May 1, 2026, at home with her loved ones at her side. A Memorial Service will be held in honor of her memory on Friday, May 8, 2026, 2:00 PM at the Jones Funeral Home of Jacksonville Chapel with Pastor Rodney Humphrey officiating. Visitation will be held an hour prior to service, from 1:00 pm- 2:00 pm.
Nancy was born on February 14, 1956, in Kittery Maine, to the late Arnold F. Sullivan and Bethel E. Buker. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sibling, Valerie Buker.
Nancy was a proud and loving mother, sister, and grandmother. She was a dedicated worker, volunteered many hours with the Boy Scouts and to helping others, loved gardening, and enjoyed painting and hiding rocks. She touched many lives with her faith, love and genuine kindness. Her favorite places were at the beach or cheering her grandchildren on in sports or music.
She is survived by her children, Tracie Rochelle, Tricia Johnson, Ginger Babinec, and Austin Peterson; siblings, Kathy Campbell (Jabo), Pam Hendricks (Walker); grandchildren, Catie Johnson, Layla Johnson, Silas Babinec, Maverick Babinec; and her loving nieces, nephews, and many friends.
