After a life of love and quiet grace, Clark Leon Hendrickson of Alpine, CA has passed.
Some stories deserve to be told slowly. This is one of them.
Clark spent his working life as ['floral designer at that time'] — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew him best.
What is given freely returns in ways we cannot measure.
Clark was born in Norfolk, Nebraska on Sept 3, 1941. He was raised on a farm by Newman Grove, NE. Upon graduation from high school he did a trade school floral design study in Denver, Colo. Following then he had employment back in Lincoln, Nebraska. At this time in 1963 he met his later to become his wife Diane.
In 1963 he was drafted into the military. He was sent on a train to San Diego for boot camp and then received Navy Radioman training. Following marriage in 1965 the Hendricksons moved to Hawaii. Clark spent some time on a ship which spent a short time at the Gulf of Tonkin during the Vietnam War. Clark was discharged from the service in 1965 in San Francisco, CA.
The couple moved to Denver, CO for 10 years. Clark worked as a floral designer at that time.
Two sons Curt and Nick were born and gave wonderful enjoyment.
In 1976 the Hendricksons moved to San Diego where they purchased a flower shop in Mission Valley area. 30 years of designing and delivering. The next movement took us to Idaho where a beautiful log home was built. Clark worked in a hotel in Cascade, ID which was built to resemble the Hotel Del Coronado in San Diego area. The next location after yrs was a move to Arroyo Grande, CA. Clark again did hospitality work. Following 7 years there we moved back to Alpine,
CA where our home is now.
Clark was diagnosed with Parkinsons Disease 15 years past. His final stages were discomforting to observe as he was very confused and disoriented. On Tuesday morning of April 28 he went to be with our Lord and Savior during total sleep. There was no suffering. Diane was at his bedside.
Clark is survived by his wife Diane of 60 years of marriage, two sons Curt & partner Kristin, Nick & daughter-in-law Tina, granddaughter Taylor McDaniel and son-in-law Nick, two great-grandchildren Marlee and Maddox and nephew Alan & wife Karen and niece Anita.
