After a life of love and quiet grace, Donna Manypenny of White Earth, MN has passed.
What follows is not the whole story, but a thread of it.
The lessons of a parent travel forward, often without their name attached.
Donna "Donna Ross" Lynn Manypenny, age 64, sadly passed away at her home in White Earth, MN, on Saturday, May 2, 2026, after battling an illness with tremendous strength until her body got too tired.
Donna is the daughter of Leonard "Honeycutt" and Mary (Bevins) Smith and Melvin Manypenny of White Earth. As a kid, she lived in the Detroit Lakes, MN, area. Donna later moved to White Earth where she raised her own family. She worked various jobs in Moorhead, Detroit Lakes and most recently at White Earth RTC as a custodian. Donna was known for being a hard worker, having beautiful long hair, her generosity, a loving heart and her willingness to help anyone in need without judgement. She enjoyed family dinners, playing cards and shaking dice. Family was everything and she loved spending time with her kids and especially treasured the time spent with her grandchildren and the special bond she held with her nephew, Dalton Jackson. Donna loved fishing, going for long rides taking in the scenery, or gambling at the casino. Donna touched many hearts with her loving, caring personality and wonderful sense of humor. The world will definitely be a lonely place without her, but we know she's watching over us with the most wonderful wings.
Donna is survived by her children, Jeffrey (Alison Jordan) Manypenny and Melissa (Jesse Finch Jr.) Manypenny; 12 grandchildren: James, Emma, Madison, Khloe, Kameron, Donald, Jordan, Natalie, Alora, Louis III, Ahshya and Jack; one great-granddaughter, Paisley; her mother, Mary Smith; brothers, Michael Smith and Timothy (Laura) Smith; sisters: Pauline Manypenny, Diane (Ronald) Chilton and Sherri Bevins; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her son, Leonard; father, Melvin Manypenny; dad, Leonard Smith, nephew, Nathan Jackson; and nieces, Haley and Rylee.
Blessed be the memory of Donna Lynn Manypenny.
