After a life of love and quiet grace, Elizabeth Sharon McCreesh of Wilmington, NC has passed.

Elizabeth spent her working life as ['hair stylist in Lenox'] — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew her best.
Every life leaves an echo in the lives it has known.
Elizabeth Sharon "Beth" McCreesh, born on July 9, 1953, in Schenectady, NY, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2026, in Wilmington, NC, at the age of 72, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Beth was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend and a spiritual Mother to many, who enriched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, William and Alice (nee Nielsen) O'Dell.
A graduate of Ballston Spa High School in Saratoga Springs, NY, Beth's journey led her through a life dedicated to serving others. Her career as a hair stylist in Lenox, MA became a platform to her to share the love of Christ. .
Her deep faith and passion for sharing the good works of Jesus Christ inspired her to evangelize and reach people around the world. Beth touched many lives as a mentor, guiding those around, near and far, pointing them to Jesus and nurturing their faith.
In a testament to her generous spirit, Beth contributed to the construction of a school in Uganda, through her beloved Spiritual daughter, Doris, which proudly bears her name, "Mama Beth", ensuring that her legacy of kindness and education will continue to make a difference.
Beth is survived by her two devoted daughters, Erika Janel Gorman and Kristina Cathleen Castillo, and her husband Edwin Castillo. She leaves behind her adoring grandchildren, Aidan, Sean, and Keira Gorman, Camden Casey and Tynik Lane, as well as her cherished sisters, Inga Giacini, Patricia McCreesh, and Kathy Flynn.
A Celebration of Life service will be held in her honor at Global River Church, 4702 South College Road, Wilmington, NC 28412, on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 1:00 pm. Beth's family invites all who knew her to join them in celebrating her life and the indelible mark she left on this world. There will be food and beverages following the service.

Beth's warmth, compassion, and unwavering faith will be dearly missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
