Evelyn Virginia Jones was born April 19, 1935, in Wakefield, Virginia. She graduated with Honors from Virginia state university and went on to pursue

further education later in life, receiving a bachelor's degree in business administration. She retired from the Department of Agriculture as a nutritionist where she met the demands of meal planning for child Care and daycare providers in Maryland.

Evelyn met and married the late Paul Robert Jones on December 13,1955, from that union came her Three daughters, Gwendolyn, Géraldine and Deborah. Evelyn enjoyed reading, eating out and watching her favorite football and basketball teams on TV.

Evelyn dedicated her life to Jehovah, which she said was the best decision she ever made, in May. 27, 1967. Then belonging to the North Cherry Hill congregation (now Brooklyn congregation). Moving to Linthicum congregation, to Hebbville then finally at Reisterstown East. Evelyn served as a faithful pioneer for many years, something she always wanted to do. Evelyn cherished sharing her faith and love for Jehovah and did so to the end.

Evelyn was proceeded in death by her mother, Inez Gray, her father, Herman Gray, her daughter, Deborah Jones, her sister, Clara Gray, and her nephews Earl Logan and David Nickells Jr.. Evelyn leaves to cherish her memory; her daughters, Gwendolyn Newman and Geraldine Jones, her sisters, Irene Jiggetts and Annie Nickell (David), her uncle, Ira Stringfield (Marva), her grandchildren, Darryl Lee (Julie), Paul Jones (Michelle), Terrina Taylor (William), Jerard Jones and nine great grandchildren, Darryl, Israel, Paul Jr., Sunnie, Royale, Kayla, Penelope, Autumn, and Harrison; nieces and nephews, Harold Logan (Estelle), Carl Logan(Michelle), Sherry Logan, Barry Nickells (Leslie) and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
