After a life of love and quiet grace, Floyd Ellis Zastrow of Lodi, CA has passed.

What we offer here is gratitude wrapped in remembrance.

Floyd held deeply to the Catholic faith — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew him best.

Those who live by belief leave a different kind of mark.

Floyd E. Zastrow, 99, died peacefully in his Lodi home on April 27, 2026 with his wife Leonila by his side. He was born September 22, 1926 in Azusa, California. He was raised in southern California, attending Mt. San Antonio College (Mt. Sac) after serving his country in the United States Navy. He pursued a career in optometry and graduated in 1949 from Northern Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago.

He met Louise Stevens in Optometry College, they married in 1950. He returned to California to serve as Clinical Director of the Southern California College of Optometry and practiced in Burbank. Often working with the movie industry.

He searched for a place to set up his own practice and raise his growing family. Lodi became home in 1963. He saw many patients throughout his years and continued to see patients into his 90's. The City of Lodi recognized Dr. Zastrow for his dedication in the medical profession in 2000 celebrating 50 years, for providing better health to the citizens of Lodi and surrounding communities.

A lifelong Catholic, He attended St. Anne's Church.

A devoted member of Lion's Club, he had perfect attendance (50 years). He took pride in serving his community, especially in the area of vision. He was designated a Hellen Keller Fellow for outstanding humanitarian service and was awarded the Melvin Jones Fellow from Lion's International Foundation. Twice earned outstanding Lion's member of the year. He encouraged and loved education!

A member of Woodbridge Golf & Country Club. He was an avid golfer. Celebrating at St. Andrews for his 80th birthday.

He married Leonila Agullana August 18, 2018.

He loved to dance. He was well known for his performances at the Lodi Senior Follies, singing "Pennies from Heaven" and tap dancing.

He had some great cars throughout his life including a 1972 Datsun 240Z and his 1967 VW Beatle was one of his favorite possessions, which he drove into his 90's.

Later in life he discovered traveling. Italy became his favorite destination and would stay a month at Lake Como. Always enjoyed a good movie, held season tickets to the UOP men's basketball games (Go Tigers!) and meeting friends for coffee.

Proceeded in death, by his first wife of 31 years, Louise. His sons, Stephen and Hank, and daughter Laura.

He is survived by his wife, Leonila and stepdaughter Shirley Agullana. These two cared for him in his final years with love and compassion.

He is survived by his daughter Clare (Fred) Reynolds, son Karl (Liz) Zastrow. Four grandchildren: Billy (Michelle) Reynolds, Amanda (Chris) Johnson, Mary (Scott) Gilbert, Beau (Alyson) Zastrow. Seven greatgrandchildren.

VISITATION A visitation will be held from 4:00pm - 8:00pm with a rosary starting at 5:00pm on Monday, May 11th, 2026 at the Vineyard Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Park, located at 14165 N. Beckman Rd, Lodi, CA 95240.

MASS Mass will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, May 12th, 2026 at St. Anne's Catholic Church located at 215 W. Walnut St Lodi, CA 95240.
