It is with sorrow and gratitude that we mark the passing of Carol A. Marvin of Tomahawk, WI — sorrow at the loss, gratitude for the life.
These are the contours of a life that meant a great deal to many.
Carol held deeply to the Methodist faith — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew her best.
The traditions Carol loved will continue to hold those she loved.
Carol A. Marvin, age 83, of Tomahawk, WI, passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Aspirus Rhinelander Hospital in Rhinelander, WI. Carol was born on November 3, 1942, in Plymouth, WI, to the late Harry and Ruby (Hintz) Abraham. She graduated from Plymouth High School and went on to attend Teacher's College where she began her career teaching in a one-room schoolhouse. She later continued her studies at UW Oshkosh and went on to teach in the Neenah/Menasha School District for several years.
On May 3, 1969, Carol was united in marriage to Carlton "Ray" Marvin. Together they built a life centered on family, hard work, and shared adventure. After moving to Tomahawk, Carol devoted herself to raising her children and creating a warm, loving home. Carol had a curious and adventurous spirit. A student pilot and real estate agent, she was always eager to learn and challenge herself, rarely complained, and immersed herself fully in the pursuits she enjoyed. Together, Carol and Ray owned and operated Town & Country Court in Tomahawk for nearly 40 years. They were well known and appreciated by their tenants, forming lasting friendships. Carol found joy in travel, often flying with Ray, and embraced many outdoor adventures. She enjoyed downhill skiing, was a certified scuba diver, and loved snorkeling. Her agreeable and easygoing nature made her a pleasure to be around and her quiet determination and knowledge left a lasting impression on those who knew her.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Ray Marvin; her son, Shawn (Mandi) Marvin; her daughter, Kelly (Lee) McElhaney; and her brothers, Lee Abraham and Terry (Janice) Abraham. She is further survived by her grandchildren, Haley, Reese, Isabelle, and Kai. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Ruby.
A memorial service for Carol Marvin will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026, at the United Methodist Church. Rev. Lisa Weaver will officiate. The family will receive friends for visitation from 9:30 AM until the time of services at 11:00 AM. Generations Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family.
