It is with sorrow and gratitude that we mark the passing of Catherine Margaret "Cathy" Logsdon of Jeffersontown, KY — sorrow at the loss, gratitude for the life.

The chapters of her life were many; these are some of them.

Catherine held deeply to the Catholic faith — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew her best.

The traditions Catherine loved will continue to hold those she loved.

Catherine "Cathy" Margaret Logsdon, 68, of Louisville, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2026. She was born July 30, 1957, to the late Carl and Kate Logsdon.

Cathy was, at her core, a kind and caring person who found purpose in helping others. She devoted much of her professional life to nonprofit work, including 17 years at Christian Care Communities, where she served with dedication as a CPA. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.

She had a creative spirit and a love for preserving memories, spending many happy hours scrapbooking and sharing that passion as a Creative Memories consultant for 20 years. Cathy also enjoyed quiet moments with a good book or a puzzle, and she never missed a chance to cheer on her alma mater, the University of Louisville. She was a proud member of Kappa Delta. And if there was chocolate nearby, Cathy was sure to find it-her sweet tooth was legendary.

Cathy also had a special gift for friendship. She made close friends wherever life took her and cherished those relationships immensely. Whether from her days at Assumption High School, the University of Louisville, her years at Christian Care, as a Trinity High School football mom, or through work and the many places she lived, she stayed in touch and made it a priority to keep those connections strong. She will be greatly missed by the many friends who meant so much to her.

More than anything, Cathy loved being a mother. From the very beginning, her son Alex was the center of her world. She treasured their time together-traveling, laughing, and showing up to support him at every game and milestone.

Cathy was grateful for the love and guidance shown to Alex by St. Francis of Assisi during his early years, and for the compassionate care she received from the staff at Nazareth Home.

Cathy is preceded in death by her parents and her nephew, Michael Hall.

She is survived by her son, Alex Logsdon; her sisters, Jean Hall (Ed) and Lisa Logsdon; her brother, Tom Logsdon (Jerri); her stepmother, Betty Logsdon; and her fur baby, Kingston Logsdon.

A memorial visitation will be held Thursday, May 7, from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Ratterman and Sons Funeral Home, 3800 Bardstown Road. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 8, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 3938 Poplar Level Road.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gilda's Club or Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kentuckiana in Cathy's memory.
