Cathy Massomillo, 78, of Manalapan, NJ, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, on Monday, May 4, 2026.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, Cathy dedicated many years of her life to education, working as a special education teacher at P.S. 236 in Brooklyn. She was deeply committed to her students and made a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Cathy was predeceased by her beloved parents, Vincent and Jenny Lombardi, and her sister, Maryann Graziano. She is survived by her devoted husband, Angelo; her loving daughters, Elisa D'Angelo and her husband Andrew of Manalapan, NJ, and Donna Shiffman of Manalapan, NJ; and her cherished grandchildren, Christina Botta and her husband James, Nicole LeBlanc and her husband Brennan, Michael D'Angelo and his wife Lindsay and Vincent D'Angelo, Danielle, Gabrielle, and Matthew Shiffman and her great-grandchildren Juliana and Emilia Botta. She will be remembered for her warmth, strength, and unwavering love for her family.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Freeman Manalapan Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan, NJ 07726. A Funeral Liturgy will take place on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas More R.C. Church in Manalapan. Interment will follow at St. Gabriel's Cemetery in Marlboro, NJ.
