Garrett Michael Segars, age 18, of Young Harris, passed away unexpectedly, April 26, 2026. Garrett was born January 4, 2008 in Blairsville, Georgia to Gary Segars and Sherry Penland. Garrett was an avid outdoorsman whose hobbies included fishing, deer hunting, duck hunting, and ginseng hunting with his dad. He loved listening to his favorite music. He also took great pride in his appearance as he loved fashion, shoes and boots. He was a member of Bunker Hill Baptist Church.Garrett is preceded in death by his mother, Sherry Penland; grandmother, Fredrica Segars; sister, LeAnn McTarggart; brothers, Shawn Duvall and step brother, Daniel Mealer.He is survived by his father, Gary Segars (Trish); Kristi and Hoyt Evans; brothers, Zachery Moss, Steven Anderson, step brother, Cody Flowers; sisters, Kristin (Joseph) Dell, Michelle (Brad) Dotson, and Jessica (Jarrod) Cody; grandfather, Thomas Edward Segars; mimi, Barbara Skelton; cousins, Colton Evans and Shelby Evans; aunt, Michelle Segars; uncle, Thomas Segars Jr and family; girlfriend, Paisley Arey and family.
