A life is more than dates on a stone; here is a small portion of his story.

Memory has a way of softening time.

Gregory S. Bonesteel

January 16, 1962 – April 23, 2026

In loving memory of Gregory S. Bonesteel, whose heart was as vast as the great outdoors he so loved. Gregory passed away on April 23, 2026, in Mesa at the age of 64. Born and raised in Woodstock, NY, his life began with a view of the mountain peaks and a spirit for adventure.

He never felt more at home than when he was fishing, hunting, camping, or tracking in the woods. His love of cars led him to work on them as a career and repair them for family and friends. Sundays were NASCAR days for him; whether it was the drivers or the race, he was always there. His sense of humor was endless, and his practical jokes-shared whenever he could seize the opportunity-won't be forgotten.

Greg is survived by his brothers Burton Bonesteel, Mark Bonesteel, and Eric (Jake) Ross; his sisters Cheryl Bonesteel and Holly Clarke; and his brother-in-law Robert Clarke. He is preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Gordon; father, Ralph Bonesteel; and stepfather, Jerrold Gordon. His family will keep Greg in their thoughts and hearts with every mountain, sunrise, and lake they encounter.

Go rest high on that mountain, brother.

At the family's request, services for Gregory will be private.

Mountain View Funeral Home and Cemetery has been entrusted with the arrangements.
