It is with sorrow and gratitude that we mark the passing of Henry Norsworthy of Buckley, WA — sorrow at the loss, gratitude for the life.
Here is a glimpse of the life he lived, in his family's own remembrance.
Henry held deeply to the Latter-day Saints faith — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew him best.
The traditions Henry loved will continue to hold those he loved.
With a spirited twinkle in his eye and a courageous heart filled to the brim with a zest for life, Henry Dean "Dean" Norsworthy, born on January 23, 1950, in Orlando, FL, has strummed his last chord on life's guitar. Dean, a man of boundless creativity and a sense of humor that could light up even the darkest of rooms, departed from us on April 28, 2026.
Dean was a melody of many notes. A Vietnam Veteran, a devoted Certified Nursing Assistant at the Rainier School, a passionate creator of music, a gifted maker of guitars, walking sticks, and glass art, and a purveyor of sage advice. He was also a man of the outdoors, relishing in the simple joys of fishing, camping, and hunting. As Albert Einstein once said, "The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge but imagination." Dean had plenty of both. He touched many lives with his funny anecdotes, his compassionate care for clients, and his heartrending music. He was a beacon of inspiration and laughter, living his life as a creative symphony that resonated in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Dean leaves behind a beautiful family, all of whom carry a piece of his spirited and courageous heart. This includes his loving wife, Diloy Norsworthy, and his children; Angie Nunez, Lynnia Timlick, Shar Ostrem (Carmine), Noel Argo (Doug), Cory Norsworthy, Jennifer Atkission (Aaron), and Camilla Norsworthy (Dylan). He now joins his parents, Henry Norsworthy and Jenny Dean Hunt, in heaven, adding his beautiful harmony to the celestial choir. A graveside service in honor of Dean's remarkable life will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at 10:00 am PDT at the Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 Southeast 240th Street, Kent, Washington, followed by a reception at the Buckley LDS Church, 1316 Ryan Rd Buckley.
As we bid farewell to our beloved Dean, we invite you all to share your memories and photos of him on his memorial page. Let's come together to celebrate a life well-lived, honoring the way Dean touched our hearts with his creativity, humor, courage, and spirit. He may not be with us in person, but his melody will forever echo in our hearts.
