It is with sorrow and gratitude that we mark the passing of Jeanette Cartrett of North Augusta, SC — sorrow at the loss, gratitude for the life.

Here is what we wish the world to know of Jeanette.

Jeanette spent her working life as ['banking', 'a career in banking'] — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew her best.

It is in the silence afterward that we hear how loud a life was.

North Augusta, SC – Graveside Services for Jeanette Cartrett, 87, who entered into rest April 22, 2026, will be conducted Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Hillcrest Memorial Park with Rev. Roy Kiser officiating.

Mrs. Cartrett was born April 9, 1939, in Alapaha, GA to the late Bill and Dorothy Railey. She retired from a career in banking. After retirement she enjoyed traveling. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Cartrett.

Survivors include her sons, Stephen Cartrett (Diane) and Gary Cartrett (Deborah); grandchildren, Sarah Britton (Jeremy), Cory Cartrett (Thomaz), Emily McKenzie (Brandon), Henry Cartrett (Lexi) and Hunter Cartrett (Andrea); great-grandchildren, Braiten, Brooks, Tate and Bellamy; sister, Carolyn Peacock.
