It is with sorrow and gratitude that we mark the passing of John Peanut "Peanut" Logue of Maysville, OK — sorrow at the loss, gratitude for the life.

Behind every name is a life, and behind every life are the people who loved it.

Grief is love with nowhere left to go.

John "Peanut" Logue, 79, passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2026, in the home of his loving daughter Stephani. He was born on December 31, 1946, in Ninnekah, Oklahoma, to Argus Logue and Sue (Claunch) Logue.

Peanut grew up in the Alex area, where he attended high school and proudly graduated. He went on to serve his country in the United States Army for two years during the Vietnam War, an experience that remained an important part of his life. In 1975, he married Karla Lauderdale, and they shared 35 years together before later divorcing. Over the years, Peanut made his home in several Oklahoma communities, living in the Bray/Foster area from 1975 to 1999, in Lindsay from 1999 to 2002, and in Dibble from 2002 until his passing.

Peanut was a man who appreciated the simple joys in life. He loved listening to Red Sovine and old country music, spending time fishing, and raising and tending to his fighting Roosters. He enjoyed watching old westerns and Hallmark movies, and especially cherished time spent watching "The Man from Snowy River" with Stephani. More than anything, Peanut treasured time with his family-his grandchildren were truly his pride and joy, he loved being a Papa, and he found great happiness driving the truck around his yard, checking on his chickens.

Known for his strong work ethic, Peanut instilled in his family the value of hard work and dedication. He would want to be remembered as a man who believed family was everything.

Peanut was a longtime member of the Lindsay Elks Lodge, where he held membership for over 18 years.

He is survived by his daughters, Brandi Wilson of Lindsay, OK, and Stephani Smith of Maysville, OK; his granddaughters, Harleigh and Emma Smith; his siblings, Billy Logue and wife Marilyn of Chickasha, OK, Debbie Logue of Oklahoma City, OK, and Ronnie Logue and wife Karla of Greenwood, AR; his niece, Chelli Logue; and his great-nephews, Devon Logue and wife Brittany, and Damon Logue.

He was preceded in death by his father, Argus Logue; his mother, Sue Reynolds; his stepfather, Bob Reynolds; his brother, J.L. Logue; his nephew, Steve Logue; and his grandson, Bailey Wilson.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the VA in Peanut's name.

John "Peanut" Logue will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but his legacy of love, hard work, and devotion to family will live on.
