It is with sorrow and gratitude that we mark the passing of Larry James Broussard of Addis, LA — sorrow at the loss, gratitude for the life.

Below, the family shares some of what made his life meaningful.

Every life leaves an echo in the lives it has known.

Funeral Services will be held at Matthews Funeral Home in Gueydan, LA on Friday, May 8, 2026, at 11:00 AM for Mr. Larry J. Broussard, 77, who passed away on Monday, May 4, 2026, at Clarity Hospice of Baton Rouge.

Visitation will be held at Matthews Funeral Home in Gueydan, LA on Friday, May 8, 2026, beginning at 8:30 AM and continuing until his service time of 11:00 AM.

Deacon Bryan Istre will be officiating Funeral and Graveside Services. Burial will take place in the Gueydan Cemetery.

Mr. Larry J. Broussard was born in Jennings, LA on October 26, 1948, to the late Mr. Leon Broussard of Lowery, LA and Ms. Edith LeBlanc of Illinois Plantation, LA. As a resident of Addis, LA for 42 years, Larry was very active in that area. He was a member of the VFW and an Addis Volunteer Firefighter. Larry gave much of his time to the Baseball Park. In his spare time, he enjoyed bowling, swimming, entertaining any friends and family, and always cooking a great meal. Nothing brought him more joy than being around his favorite daughter and grandchildren. A loving family man whose memory will be cherished in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

Mr. Larry is survived by his wife, Sandra Broussard; daughter, Kelly Broussard Day (Kevin); grandchildren, Austin Wintz (Lexie) and Allie Wintz; great-grandchildren, Greyson Wintz, Camille Wintz, and Weston Wintz; sister, Esther Broussard; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Leon Broussard and Edith LeBlanc Broussard; and sister, Linda Lilley.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Baton Rouge General ICU team along with doctors, Richard Lieux, Denzil Moraes and Wenje Xu.
