It is with sorrow and gratitude that we mark the passing of Martha Peterson of Sapulpa, OK — sorrow at the loss, gratitude for the life.
Some lives speak quietly; her is one such story.
A parent's life is measured, in part, by the lives she shaped.
Martha (Marty) B. Peterson passed away on April 21, 2026 in Sapulpa, OK.
Born in Yakima, Washinton to Caryl (Brush) Garfield and Robert E. Garfield on April 8,1941. She was raised in Riverton WY and graduated from Riverton High School in 1959. Following graduation she attended Cosmetology School in Oklahoma.
Returning to Riverton, she married Wendell Manka and had two children Tina and Mark. She was a beautician, and for many years worked out of her home.
In 1976 she married Cletus Peterson and together they shared lots of laughs and many adventures, taking many road trips and camping. Together they started a Roto-Rooter business in Riverton and Cheyenne WY and in Bull Head City, AZ.
They then put down roots in Kellyville OK to be near her mother and step father. She opened a beauty shop with several friends, and had a successful business there.
She lived an active life, loved to garden, enjoyed occasional trips to the casino and her circle of friends and family. Her family was always a priority, especially being a grandmother. She was the sweetest, kindest, most generous person you could ever know.
Marty is survived by daughter Tina Fullmer of Kellyville, OK; son Mark Manka of OK; sister Muriel Kraus of Riverton WY; brother Robert Garfield of Phoenix, AZ; 4 grandchildren, 4 great granddaughters, 2 great great grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her husband Cletus Peterson; mother and step father Caryl and Merritt Hooper; father Robert E. Garfield.

Cremains will be buried at Mountain View Cemetery in Riverton Wy. Family will gather to celebrate her life, at a yet to be determined date.
