Some people pass through; others leave a path.
Matthew Aaron Flynn Sr., age 61, passed away on April 24, 2026, after complications from Progressive Supranuclear Palsy.
Matthew was a devoted father, a hardworking man, and someone who truly lived with heart. He was known for his strong work ethic and his willingness to give to others without hesitation. He had a generous spirit and was always ready to lend a hand to those in need.
He was, at his core, a family man. Matthew deeply loved his children-Brittney Kernell, Ashley Dorsey, and Matthew Flynn Jr.-and took great pride in each of them. He also found immense joy in his grandchildren-NaiRya, Camden, Nyla, Marin, and Calvin-cherishing the time he spent with them and the special bond they shared. His family was his greatest source of pride and happiness.
Matthew had a vibrant personality and a sense of humor that could light up any room. He was known for his laughter and his often inappropriate jokes-qualities that made him unforgettable to those who knew and loved him. If you were looking for him, you could often find Matt laid back in his recliner, "resting his eyes," in true fashion.
He also found peace and joy in the outdoors. Whether he was camping, fishing, or tending to his garden, he felt most at home surrounded by nature.
Matthew was also a proud mama's boy, carrying a deep love and connection for his mother throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Michael Flynn and Kathryn Lorraine Morrison, as well as his siblings, Kelly Flynn and Robbin Cunningham.
Though his passing comes far too soon, the love he gave and the memories he created will live on in all who knew him.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
