A parent's life is measured, in part, by the lives she shaped.
Nancy Marie McBride, age 59, passed away on May 4, 2026, in Smiths Station, Alabama. Born in New Jersey, she lived a life marked by love, devotion, and quiet strength, and she will be remembered with deep affection by all who knew her.
Nancy was born on July 25, 1966, to Harry Hadley and Joan in New Jersey. She carried the values of family, kindness, and perseverance with her throughout her life. Those who knew Nancy will remember her as a warm and steady presence.
She had a special gift for making others feel welcome and cared for, and her home was a place where family and friends could gather in comfort. Her life as a homemaker was a true expression of her heart, and she found purpose in the many ways she nurtured those around her.
She had many interests that brought her happiness over the years. Nancy was an animal lover, and her affection for dogs was especially well known. She had raised beagles in the past and took great joy in the companionship and personality of the animals she cared for. She also enjoyed cooking and gardening, both of which reflected her love for creating and tending to life in all its forms. Whether she was preparing a meal, working in the garden, or spending time with her beloved dogs, Nancy found contentment in the familiar and meaningful rhythms of home life.
Nancy married Roger Allen McBride and shared 20 years of marriage with him, having been together for 30 years in total. Their bond was one of enduring love and shared history, and their years together were filled with memories that will be cherished always. She is survived by her spouse, Roger, who will carry forward the memory of their life together with love and gratitude.
She is also survived by her children, Justin "Seth" Daughtry, Anthony "Bubba" Maurray, Summer Nevels and her 6 grandchildren. She also leaves behind her three siblings, Jimmy (Linda) Boles, Debbie (John) Rosier and Jesse (Tibby) Schafer and niece, Dalyla Reed. The relationships Nancy shared with her family were important to her, and her presence in their lives will be deeply missed.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Harry Hadley and Joan Hadley. Their memory remained an important part of her life, and she carried their influence with her always.
Nancy Marie McBride will be remembered for her loving spirit, her gentle nature, and the comfort she gave so freely to others. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
