It is with sorrow and gratitude that we mark the passing of Patricia "Trish" Wimer of Butler, PA — sorrow at the loss, gratitude for the life.

Patricia "Trish" Kratz Wimer, age 86, of Butler, PA, formerly of Pompano Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2026, with her children by her side.
Born on June 15, 1939 in Ontario, Canada, she was the daughter of the late William A. and Hilda M. Kratz. She was formerly married to Walter L. Wimer, Jr. of Butler, PA.
Trish lived a life defined by dedication, independence, and compassion. A highly respected cardio-thoracic surgical nurse, she brought skill, precision, and deep care to her work, touching countless lives throughout her career. She then advanced into nursing management, where her leadership and professionalism continued to make a lasting impact. Later, she returned to an active role in surgery. Toward the end of her career, she shared her knowledge and passion for nursing as a clinical site coordinator at CCAC, helping to guide and inspire future generations of nurses.
Beyond her career, Trish was a devoted mother and grandmother who found her greatest joy in her family. She had a love for reading and could often be found enjoying a good book, as well as a fondness for classic Hollywood films, which she appreciated for their timeless charm. She also loved to travel, with Florida's beaches or the American desert southwest being some of her favorite places.
She is the loving mother of Walter L. Wimer III and Susannah (Robert) Borne; cherished sister of William Kratz; and proud grandmother of William Wimer, Merrick Wimer, Nicholas Borne, and Thomas Borne.
Trish will be remembered for her strength, her intelligence, and the steady, loving presence she provided to those around her. Her legacy of care, both in her profession and within her family, will not be forgotten.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 29, 2026 at 4:00 pm at Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Road, McMurray, PA 15317.
