It is with sorrow and gratitude that we mark the passing of Phillip Gregory McGehee of Bells, TX — sorrow at the loss, gratitude for the life.

What follows is a brief look at the life his family wishes to share.

Phillip held deeply to the Baptist faith — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew him best.

Faith is the language some lives are written in. Phillip's was one.

Phillip Gregory McGehee, 60, passed away peacefully at his home in Savoy on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. His passing comes after a courageous six-year battle with cancer.

Phillip was born on July 15, 1965, in Denison, Texas, at Madonna Hospital to Jeff and Yvonne McGehee. On November 5, 1995, he married the love of his life, Lili Smith. He was a loving husband, son, brother, uncle, daddy, and grandad. He enjoyed music, being with family and riding his Harley Davidson along with his brother.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Lili McGehee of Savoy; his son, Gunnar McGehee and fiancée Josie Neu of Denison; and daughter, Jocelyn Blanton and husband Jamie Blanton of Denison. He is also survived by his father, Jeff McGehee of Savoy; brother, Jeffery McGehee and wife Toni of Savoy; and sister, Tanya Bailey and husband Guy of Savoy. Phillip's legacy continues through his beloved grandchildren: Emerald Jane McGehee, Kaden Haywood, and A'mia Blanton. He also leaves behind multiple cousins and a wide circle of friends.

Phillip was preceded in death by his mother, Yvonne McGehee, and his brother, Phillip Lee McGehee.

Visitation will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Hebron Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM with burial immediately following at Hebron Cemetery.

"He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end." ~ Ecclesiastes 3:11
