Robert Allen White, Jr., age 70, of Oakland, Tennessee, passed away at his home on May 4, 2026.He was born in Memphis, Tennessee, to the late Robert Allen White, Sr. and Ann Shelley White. Robert attended Bartlett High School and went on to spend much of his career as a respected sports umpire. He dedicated 20 years as a softball umpire for the City of Memphis and the City of Bartlett, where he was known for his fairness, consistency, and love of the game.Robert was a loyal and devoted father and a loving grandfather who was always there for his family. He will be remembered for his steady presence, kind heart, and commitment to those he loved most.He is survived by his daughter, Chelsea White of Clarksville, Tennessee; one brother, Glenn White (Janice) of Southaven, Mississippi; and his cherished grandchildren, Hunter Gray, Alayna Kimery, Kaleb Gray, Kayleigh White, and Zoey White.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Rickey White.The family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.Services will be private.
