Sharon held deeply to the Baptist faith — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew her best.
The traditions Sharon loved will continue to hold those she loved.
Sharon Janelle Coleman, 76, of Arlington, Texas, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2026, in Arlington.Sharon was born on July 25, 1949, in Fort Worth, Texas, and was raised in Arlington on a dairy farm. She graduated from Arlington High School in 1967 and went on to build a long and successful career with Xerox, where she dedicated over 50 years of service.More than anything, Sharon was a woman whose life revolved around the people she loved and the faith that guided her. Sharon was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose life was firmly rooted in her faith and her family. Her son, Brian, was the pride and joy of her life, a love that only grew when her grandson, Colton, was born in 2008. She was an incredibly proud and dedicated grandmother who never missed a game, school event, or special moment. She found immense joy in being present for Colton, whether cheering from the stands or picking Colton up from school in her Corvette—booster seat, sunglasses on, his head barely above the window with his arm resting out the side like he was the coolest kid around. She brought joy, enthusiasm, and unwavering support to everything he did.Sharon had a passion for life and the people around her. She loved baseball, college football, and especially any sport her grandson played. She also enjoyed the outdoors often working on her yard that she took pride in, car shows, quilting, and above all, hosting gatherings. Known for her warmth and hospitality, Sharon was a gracious entertainer who brought family and friends together with joy. Sharon had a gift for making people feel welcome. She loved hosting—whether it was the big Christmas parties she held or the countless gatherings that made her home the heart of family life. Fall Saturdays were especially meaningful, often spent side by side with Colton watching college football and enjoying each other’s company.A faithful and active member of Pleasantview Baptist Church, Sharon was deeply involved in her church community. She volunteered her time generously, attended multiple Bible studies, and lived out her strong love for the Lord through service and fellowship. Her deep love for the Lord was evident in the way she lived and cared for others.She is survived by her son, Brian Coleman and his wife Katie; her beloved grandson, Colton Coleman; her sister, JoAnn Lancaster and husband Guy; her brother, Jackie Stults and his wife Betty, and Jerry Stults and his wife Pat; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who loved her dearly.She was preceded in death by her parents, Bertha Pearl and Homer Elmo Stults, and her sister, June Berna.A memorial service to celebrate Sharon’s life will be held at Pleasantview Baptist Church, 4400 Pleasantview Drive, Arlington, Texas, on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.Sharon will be remembered for her generous heart, her unwavering faith, and the deep love she had for her family. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the memories she created with those who knew and loved her.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to support children attending camp through Pleasantview Baptist Church.
