September 27th 1939 - May 4th 2026

Sister Eleanor Deady, CSJ, (Sister Shawn) in the 69th year as a beloved member of the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Boston, died May 4, 2026. Devoted daughter of the late John E. Deady and Helen (Donoghue), and loving sister of the late John B. Deady. Sister Eleanor is survived by her cherished sister-in-law, Bernice; her nieces Carolyn Deady and her husband Adam Schlosser; Maura Loftus and her husband Geoff; Alyssa Welsch-Rovito and her husband Andy; her nephew, Jay Deady and his wife Lindsay and their families and her Sisters in the Congregation especially dear friends Mary Rita Grady, CSJ and Ann Marie Grady, CSJ. Formerly missioned at St. Agnes in Arlington, Holy Name in West Roxbury, Immaculate Conception in North Cambridge, Matignon High School in North Cambridge, Arlington Catholic High School in Arlington, Regis College in Weston and Marian High School in Framingham, MA.

Visiting hours at Holy Family Chapel, Sisters of St. Joseph Motherhouse, 631 Cambridge Street, Brighton, MA, Thursday, May 7, 2026, 9:15 to 10:00 a.m. Prayer Service at 10:00 a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass and Prayers of Final Commendation at the Motherhouse at 10:15 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery,180 Pond Street, Natick, MA.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Sisters of St. Joseph, c/o Mission Advancement, 637 Cambridge Street, Brighton, MA 02135.
