It is with sorrow and gratitude that we mark the passing of Tamy Grogan Roland of Snead, AL — sorrow at the loss, gratitude for the life.

Here is what we wish the world to know of Tamy.

It is in the silence afterward that we hear how loud a life was.

Mrs. Tamy Marie Grogan Roland, age 59, of Snead, Alabama, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, Monday evening, May 4th, 2026. Tamy was the second daughter of the late Charles and Deen Grogan. Tamy leaves behind her loving husband, Timothy Roland, with whom she was anticipating celebrating their 37th wedding Anniversary in just three days, May 7th. She and Tim had two daughters, Meredith (Jeff) and Emily, and one son, Jonathan (Autumn). Tamy also leaves behind her dear sister and brother-in-law, Sheila and Dick Sztanyo. Tamy and Tim were faithful members of the Antioch Church of Christ in Snead. Over the years in several congregations, Tamy taught children's Bible classes and always looked forward to teaching in VBS and leading Ladies’ Days each year. Her love for the Bible and the Lord was evident in her passion for singing praises about the Savior and her heavenly home, sharing Bible stories with her grandchildren, and in studying the Bible and discussing it with her friends and family. Tamy was especially proud of her two grandchildren, Gordon and Molly. You couldn’t be near Tamy for 5 minutes without her showing pictures or videos, or sharing a sweet story about these two. Tamy was an incredible “Gigi” and demonstrated her love to her children and grandchildren every day. She also showed love to others by the food she prepared for potlucks, those in sickness and grief, and for many other church events. Tamy served as a teacher and a sub for countless years and was treasured as “the favorite teacher and sub” by many. She left an impression on everyone she came in contact with by making everyone feel seen and loved.
