It is with sorrow and gratitude that we mark the passing of Tia M. Delisle of Wayne, NJ — sorrow at the loss, gratitude for the life.
The chapters of her life were many; these are some of them.
The hands that raised children leave fingerprints on the future.
Tia M. Delisle, 60, of Wayne, N.J., passed away on Friday, May 1, 2026.
Born on February 8, 1966, in Rutland, Vermont, to Jerome J. and Greta (Streeter) Romania, Tia spent most of her life in Vermont before moving to Wayne twenty-one years ago. Wherever she lived, she carried with her a deep love for family, a strong spirit, and a heart that welcomed everyone in.
Tia's family was her entire world. She was a devoted and loving mother to her cherished children, Ethan James Delisle, Hunter Leo Delisle, and Dakota Jerome Delisle. She found her greatest purpose in loving and supporting them, and that love was felt in everything she did.
She is survived by her loving siblings, Carrie Crepeault and her husband Bill, Jerome J. Romania and his wife Suzanne, Tony S. Romania and his wife Mara, and Carmella Romania; her sister-in-law, Denise Romania; many beloved nieces and nephews; and extended family members and dear friends who will miss her more than words can express.
Tia was predeceased by her parents, her brother, George H. Romania and her nephew, William Tyler Crepeault.
She will be remembered not only for her resilience and strength, but for her incredible personality. Tia was funny, quick-witted, and had a way of making people laugh even in the hardest moments. Her humor and spirit brought light to those around her and created memories that will be cherished forever.
Above all, Tia will be remembered as an amazing woman whose love, laughter, and loyalty left a lasting imprint on everyone who knew her.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, May 30, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with a Catholic Prayer service to be offered at 12:30 p.m. at Gaita Memorial Home, 154 Newark Pompton Turnpike, Little Falls. Memories and condolences may be shared at gaitamh.com.
Tia also had a tremendous love for animals. She had a compassionate heart and would often rescue animals in need, always opening her home and her heart to them. Her kindness extended far beyond people, it touched every life she encountered.
