Jeanne Kathryn Therkildsen Koenig, age 94, died peacefully on April 21, 2026 in Mountain View, California. She was born in Seligman, Arizona on September 27, 1931 to Ivalyn Ruth Crane and Jules (“Boots”) Spencer Therkildsen. Jeanne spent much of her youth in Laramie, Wyoming.The family moved to Sunnyvale, California during WW2 where both of her parents contributed to the war effort. Jeanne graduated from Fremont High School in 1950 and worked at Ames Research Center as a mathematical aide (human computer), first with Flight Engineering and then transferring in 1955 to the Wind Tunnel Testing division where she met aeronautical engineer David Koenig. They married February 21, 1959, making their home and raising two children in Sunnyvale.Jeanne and David were longtime members of Saint Timothy’s Episcopal Church, where Jeanne was active on the altar guild. They spent many years collecting and distributing donations as volunteers for Food for All. As the family caretaker, Jeanne spent countless hours visiting aging relatives and driving them to various appointments. She also enjoyed genealogy and served as the family historian.Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, parents, sisters Joann LeFebvre and Kay Mathias, and brother Bruce Therkildsen. She is survived by son Steven (Cindy Taylor) of Carson City, Nevada, daughter Laura (Donald Endres) of Anchorage, Alaska, granddaughters Madeline of Northampton, Massachusetts and Naomi of Ann Arbor, Michigan, and numerous nieces and nephews.
