After a life of love and quiet grace, John Edward "Johnny" Goode Sr. of Muscle Shoals, AL has passed.

John Edward (Johnny) Goode, Sr., was born on December 30, 1950, to the late Williams Kelly and Fannie Goode of Leighton, Alabama, he was the third of six children. He departed this life on Friday, May 1, 2026, at Helen Keller Hospital in Sheffield, AL. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grand, Pops, Pawpaw, and uncle.
He confessed hope in Christ at an early age and joined St. James M.B. Church in Leighton, AL. Later, he joined First Baptist Shoals City in Muscle Shoals, AL. He illustrated faithfulness in his roles as a deacon, superintendent, Sunday School and Bible Class Teacher. He then joined Tried Stone M.B. Church in Courtland, AL, where he continued to display his devotion to Jesus Christ as a deacon, teacher, and choir member. He was lead singer of the Golden Crowns and Spiritual Starlight's gospel groups.
John attended Leighton Training School and graduated from Colbert County High School in 1971. He accomplished an associate's degree in theology and a certification in electrical works.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Jean (Sann) Goode; one brother, William Harden Goode; and a devoted mother-in-law, Leatha Ann Thompson.
He leaves to cherish his memories:

(Glenda) Goode, Reginald De'Edward (Jennifer) Goode, both of Muscle Shoals, AL, and Thomas B. Goode of Florence, AL; one sister, Brenda L. Goode in Leighton, AL; one aunt, Evelyn Ricks of Muscle Shoals, AL; one great uncle, David King of Muscle Shoals, AL; three aunts-in-law, Jewel Faye (Lemuel) Howell of Muscle Shoals, AL, Cleazell Roberson of Florence, AL, and Maxine Robinson of Norcross, GA; one brother-in-law, Dr. Grady (Glenda) Thompson of Albany, GA; four sisters-in-law, Vicky Thompson of Muscle Shoals, AL, Valery Goodloe and Agnes Thompson, both of Sheffield, AL, and Margaret (Russell) Harris of Powell, TN; a special cousin/brother, Robert Hampton (Mule) of Leighton, AL; and a special niece/daughter, Tammie Thompson of Sheffield, AL; and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
