After a life of love and quiet grace, Joseph J. Carbone of Woonsocket, RI has passed.

Some stories deserve to be told slowly. This is one of them.

The lessons of a parent travel forward, often without their name attached.

It is with deep sorrow and profound love that we announce the passing of Joseph J. Carbone on May 2, 2026; a truly remarkable man-a devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud grandfather whose life was a quiet testament to strength, kindness, and unwavering dedication to his family. Joseph was the heart of his home, the steady hand in times of uncertainty, and the warm presence that brought comfort, laughter, and guidance to all that knew him.

Mr. Carbone was the husband of the late Katherine (Cormier) Carbone. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Joseph and Emily (Marques) Carbone. Joseph was an Army Veteran, serving during the Vietnam War. He worked over forty years as a tire service technician for several companies throughout the years, including most recently, for TCI in Bridgewater, MA. Joseph was an accomplished guitarist and was a member of the Good Company Band and the Trailblazers. He was also an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed quahogging, fishing, and hunting. Joseph is survived by his five children, Dean Gauvin and his wife, Rose, of Woonsocket, Michelle Darling and her husband, Mark, of Woonsocket, Tina McDonald and her husband, Bruce, of Woonsocket, Monty Gauvin and his wife, Elaine, of Woonsocket, and Joseph Carbone and his wife, Holly, of Woonsocket; twelve grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; his siblings; and several nieces and nephews. His funeral will be held Friday, May 8, 2026 beginning with visitation at 9AM followed by a service at 11AM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow in St. James Cemetery, Manville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice in memory of Joseph.
