After a life of love and quiet grace, Judith Glonn Burley of Canby, OR has passed.
Below, a small portrait of a life that will not soon be forgotten.
We measure lives in love, not minutes.
Judith Glonn Burley (Lang) was born in Salem to Aubrey and Billie (Dawson) Lang, December 21, 1938. They lived mostly in the Salem and coastal areas: Valsetz, Rose Lodge and Grande Ronde, graduating in 1957 from Taft High School. During her freshman year she was a ground observer. She used a radio to call in the time and place of a plane flying over. She taught this to kids in high school. After graduating she married Curtis Hart and they had three sons. After their divorce she met and married Nelson F Burley on October 15, 1962. They moved to the family farm in Molalla and had two daughters. They raised five kids, she did odd jobs, making sign molds, delivering newspapers, working at little country stores, and cleaning clinics and houses. They bought and owned/operated the Liberal Store for several years before selling it. She enjoyed gardening (grew two large gardens), needle point, cross stitching, and camping. Their first trailer was a 13 Ft travel trailer, which was a little cramped with seven people and two dogs, one was a pure-bred St Bernard. In 1998 Nelson and Judith moved to Crooked River Ranch and she moved back in August 2015 to be closer to family. Judith is survived by her children: John (Tana) of Sandy; Kelly of Germany; Ronnie of AZ; Tammy Emmert (Mike) of Molalla; Shannon of Gresham; Sister-in-laws: Janett Burley of Canby and Rosalie Wallace of Happy Valley. She has seven grandchildren and many greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by Nelson (married 43 years), brother in laws: Oliver, Robert, Don, nephews: Lonnie, Randy, Scott, and her parents.
