After a life of love and quiet grace, Mae Hyder of Crossville, TN has passed.

Mae held deeply to the Latter-day Saints faith — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew her best.

Some find their compass in faith. Mae was among them.

MAE HYDER age 85, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2026. She was born September 3, 1940, to Lester and Sally Edwards, who preceded her in death.

Mae was a loving mother, grandmother great grandmother, and friend whose kindness touched everyone she met. She was always happy to see you and was known for her kind heart and contagious smile. Mae found joy in reading, sitting on her porch, gardening, canning, cooking for her family, and spending time with her beloved fur babies. She was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and lived her life with faith, love, and compassion for others.

She is survived by her children, Debbie Fogle, Darlene Henson, and Donald Hyder; her grandchildren, Megan Hyder, Cierra (Chris) Richards, and Danielle (Michael) Sutton and her great grandchildren- Kensley Richards, Chloe Richards, Brylee Richards, Grayson Richards, McKenzie Sutton and Levi Sutton.

In addition to her parents, Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Hyder, daughter; Donna Hyder; her son-in-law- Billy Henson and her sister, Frances Edwards.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday May 3, 2026 at 3:00pm at Hood Funeral Home in Crossville, TN. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00pm-3:00pm, one hour prior to the service at Hood Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Slate Springs Cemetery.

Mae's love, warmth, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
