Frederick, MD - April 27, 2026, at age 91

Born March 8,1935, in Washington, DC; she went on to build her life in Rochester NY and passed peacefully in Frederick, MD. She was predeceased by her husband, Gerald (Jerry) Silver; daughter, Karen (Silver) Diener; granddaughter, Amanda Diener; and brother, Jerry Burke.

She is survived by her loving children: Gary Silver (Adrienne), Eileen (Silver) Murphy, and Marty Silver; grandchildren: Brittney, Lauren, Shari, Jessica, Nicole, Alexander, Casey, and Madison; and great-grandchildren: Scarlette, Striker, Aviana, Zurina, River, Everest, and nieces and nephews.

She was a friend to all, an avid mahjong player and lived by the simple but powerful mantra: "just be good." She was lovingly known as "Bubbie" to her grandchildren.

Mitzi had a spark about her that drew people in. Whether she was telling a story or sitting around the table with loved ones. She made every moment feel special. She lived fully, loved deeply, and found happiness in life's simplest pleasures.

Graveside services will be held Friday, May 1, 2026 at 11 AM at Britton Rd Cemetery, 188 Britton Road, Rochester, NY 14612. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in her memory. [ Donate Online ]
