Born in 1927 in Great Falls, Montana, Norma began a life that would touch many along the way.
Norma held deeply to the Catholic faith — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew her best.
Faith gave Norma a place to stand, and a place to return to.
Norma Pauline Driscoll Gilmore of Eugene died May 2, 2026, of age-related causes. She was 99.Norma was born on April 5, 1927, in Great Falls, Montana, to Pauline and John Driscoll. She earned a Masters in Fine Arts from the University of Oregon in 1954.In 1950, she married Robert Clymer Gilmore, a fellow art student. Working in a variety of mediums for over seven decades, Norma is well-known throughout the Pacific Northwest as a professional artist.Survivors include her four daughters, Miriam Cocciolo of Florence, Michelle Low of Newman, Calif., Bridgid Gilmore of Springfield, and Bernadette Brew of Corvallis; two sons, Patrick Gilmore of Eugene and Michael Gilmore of Sacramento, Calif.; 16 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.An 11:30 am Rosary and 12:15 pm Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church in Eugene on Thursday, May 7, 2026, followed by an Interment Service at Rest Haven Memorial Park & Funeral Home.
