After a life of love and quiet grace, Norma Murray of Toledo, OH has passed.

Below, the family shares some of what made her life meaningful.

Norma held deeply to the Catholic faith — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew her best.

Those who live by belief leave a different kind of mark.

Norma Murray, age 79, of Toledo's Shoreland community, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2026 at ProMedica Toledo Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 27, 1946, in Monroe, MI to Albert "Roscoe" and Velva Lee (Rose) Hamblin. Norma graduated from Monroe High School and went on to study at cosmetology school. She spent many years as a cafeteria worker for the Canteen Corporation at Maumee Stamping, the Chrysler Plant in Maumee, Libbey Glass of Toledo, The Edison Co. in Monroe, MI, and Champion Spark Plug in Toledo, retiring in 2006. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.

Norma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She enjoyed going to casinos and anywhere she could play Bingo. At home she enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, word searches, and watching TV gameshows, crime shows, and politics. She was an avid collector of owl and angel figurines as well as coins. More than anything she cherished time spent with her family and friends.

Norma is survived by her devoted husband of almost 57 years, Gerald "Jerry" Murray Jr. (married May 17, 1969); children, Deborah Murray, Brian Murray, and Joyce (Timothy) Johnson; grandchildren, Nicole Murray, Deandra, Shayla, and Renae Gunn; and great-grandson, Jaxson. Also surviving are her sisters, Delma Hamblin, Christine Morgan, Ruby Hamblin, and Frances Hamblin; and brothers, Donald and Mark Hamblin. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Paul Murray; and sister, Della Clark.

Visitation will be Sunday, May 10 from 2-7 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd. The funeral service will be Monday, May 11 at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home with Deacon James Dudley presiding. Interment will follow in Roselawn Cemetery, Lasalle, MI.
