Rev. Wally Hill, age 80, departed this life on Monday, May 4, 2026, at Optim Medical Center in Reidsville. Born on October 13, 1945, in Endicott, New York, to Walter Warren, Sr. and Lillian Hill. Rev. Hill’s remarkable life was a testament to faith, service, and kindness.Rev. Wally Hill served faithfully as a pastor at Connor's Baptist Church, where his loving and generous spirit deeply touched the lives of his congregation. Known for his approachable nature and mild manner, he brought comfort and joy to all who knew him. Those moments when he delighted in sharing a good-natured joke forever illuminated the hearts of friends and parishioners alike. His genuine love for children was evident to all, reflecting the warmth and compassion that defined his ministry.A proud veteran, Rev. Hill served honorably in the United States Air Force, U.S. Army, and Georgia National Guard. Through his military service, he experienced life in many parts of the country and abroad — including New York, Massachusetts, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Colorado, Alaska, Japan, South Korea, and ultimately, Georgia, where he made Reidsville his home for the last two decades. His dedication to his country paralleled his dedication to his faith and community, underscoring a life committed to the greater good. He was preceded in death by his parents; Marilyn Genung, Patricia Hill Loomis, Marlene McCoy, Brandon Hill, and Harvey Hill.Rev. Hill is survived by his cherished wife of 37 years, Kathy Hill; 4 devoted children, Doris Marie (Joseph) Brock of Glennville, Penny Hoogerhyde of Oklahoma, Walt (Sharon) Hill of Reidsville, and Vicky Kaye Waye of Jacksonville; siblings, Beatrice (Stanley) McLain of Oneida, NY, Roger (Sylvia) Hill of Statesville, NC and David Hill of Greer, SC; 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, along with several nephews and nieces.Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at 3:00 PM at the chapel of Low Country Cremation & Burial, 124 Jordan Street, Reidsville. Following this, the funeral service will begin at 5:00 PM, at the same location. Interment will take place the morning of Friday, May 8, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 8819 US-301, Glennville, GA 30427.Low Country Cremation and Burial has the honor to serve the Hill family.
