After a life of love and quiet grace, Richard "Dick" Kubiak of Brentwood, CA has passed.
Here is the shape of a life remembered with love.
Richard held deeply to the Catholic faith — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew him best.
Some find their compass in faith. Richard was among them.
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Richard (Dick) Kubiak, age 86, of Brentwood, California, who entered eternal rest on April 22, 2026. Dick was born in the Mount Oliver neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Throughout his life, he lived in several places before ultimately relocating with his family to California in 1978, where he made his home. A devoted family man, Dick treasured time spent with his loved ones. He especially enjoyed cheering on the San Francisco 49ers and the San Francisco Giants, pursuing his passion for flying as a private pilot, and giving back to his community through volunteer service with the Knights of Columbus. Dick proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Air Force Reserve. He was the beloved husband of the late Maryann Kubiak and the devoted son of the late Charles and Alice Kubiak. He is survived by his loving children: daughter Alicia Hall, and sons Paul Kubiak and Thomas Kubiak; his cherished grandchildren Michael Cutright, Elizabeth (Hall) Grafton, Mason Kubiak, and Brenna Kubiak; and his adored great grandchildren Lillian Grafton and Luna Grafton. Dick was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Patricia Goodrich; and his brothers, Carl Kubiak and Robert Kubiak. Dick's Catholic faith was the foundation of his life.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, May 14, at 5:00 p.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery & Funeral Center, 2200 E. 18th Street, Antioch, California.
A Funeral Mass will follow on Friday, May 15, at 11 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 500 Fairview Avenue, Brentwood, California. Dick will be cremated and inurned at Holy Cross Cemetery & Funeral Center.
