After a life of love and quiet grace, Roxann Petal Hooper of Passaic, NJ has passed.
Below, a small portrait of a life that will not soon be forgotten.
Roxann spent her working life as ['Costco for many years'] — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew her best.
We measure lives in love, not minutes.
Roxanne Petal Hooper, née Alexander, was born on March 22, 1969, to the late Evonne Alexander Giddings and the late Robert Campbell. She was the fourth of four siblings.
Roxanne spent her childhood on Essex Street, surrounded by her mother, siblings, aunts, and cousins. She attended Mission Chapel School and later furthered her education at Vaymons Secondary School. She developed a passion for typing and went on to attend Victoria Commercial Private School (Bermond) to pursue this skill. At a young age, she met Trevor Hooper, and they were united in marriage.
Their union was blessed with three wonderful children-three boys and one girl. She also lovingly embraced another son through marriage, welcoming him into her heart as her own.
Roxanne had a pure and unconditional love for her children. She found great joy in cooking and entertaining friends and family, always making everyone feel welcomed and loved. She was known for her contagious and delightful laugh. Roxanne migrated to America 30 years ago. She worked at Costco for many years, where she built lasting friendships. She enjoyed shopping at the malls and spending time with friends over drinks or dinner.
She was a loving, kind-hearted, meek, and humble woman. Roxanne will be deeply missed by her children, husband, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
