After a life of love and quiet grace, Thomas Bacigalupi of Bear, DE has passed.
Here is the shape of a life remembered with love.
The work of a parent is rarely finished — it lives on in the children he loved.
Thomas Bacigalupi, age 68, of Wilmington, Delaware passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2026. Tom was born in Long Branch, New Jersey. He was the son of Carolyn (Heyel) and the late Joseph Bacigalupi. He graduated from Fort Lauderdale, Florida's North East High School in 1976. Shortly after graduation, Tom went on to join the United States Air Force that same year, where he served honorably for 4 years as an Aircraft Maintenance Specialist, and was a Designated Expert Marksman. After the military, he entered the automotive industry and started his own business in paintless dent repair. Tom was a devoted pet parent to his beautiful dog Petra, a dearly beloved companion and dinner date to his best friend Madeline Johnson, and an active member of the NRA. In his free time, he was a frequent flier in karaoke bars, a tinkerer of RC cars, planes, and rockets, and a sucker for all things computers. Above all though, Tom cherished the time spent with his children and his beautiful grandchild, whom he would have spoiled to oblivion if given the chance. In addition to his father Joseph Bacigalupi, Tom is predeceased by his brother-in-law Bob Korsan. He is survived by his children Jessica Bacigalupi (her husband, Alex Morgan), Jonathan Bacigalupi (his wife, Lydia Bacigalupi), and David Bacigalupi (his wife, Jessica Bacigalupi); his former wife Diane Bacigalupi; and his grandson Theodore Thomas Bacigalupi. He is also survived by his mother, Carolyn Bacigalupi, and his siblings; Lynn Korsan, Donald Bacigalupi (Dan Feder), and Michael Bacigalupi (Kelly) and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. A visitation for Tom will be held at One in Christ Church, 2145 Graves Road, Hockessin, DE 19707 on Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral services to begin at 11:00 AM. A luncheon to be served after. Burial will be held at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear, DE at a later date.
