After a life of love and quiet grace, Virgil Leon Lee of Wichita Falls, TX has passed.

Here is the shape of a life remembered with love.

Years are made of mornings, and mornings of moments.

Virgil Leon Lee, born June 23, 1934, passed away peacefully at home on May 1, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of dedication to family, service, and community.

He was the son of William Robert Lee and Ida Cherry Lou (Gartrell) Lee, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded by his brothers Ben, Travis, and Robert Lee, and his sisters Hazel and Frances.

Virgil is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Lynda Ann (Wright) Lee, with whom he built a lifetime of love and partnership. He is also survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Christopher Allan Lee and Jennifer Lee, and his four grandchildren: Hayden Bryant Lee, Spencer Allan Lee and his wife Jessica, Carson Scott Lee and his wife Madison, and Melinda Grace Lee and one great grandchild, Nathan Blake Lee.

He is survived by extended family who held a special place in his life, including his sister and brother-in-law Debbie and Jimmy Murfield as well as nieces and nephews Susan and Kenny Flaharity, Sara and Chris Peterson along with numerous other relatives and friends.

Virgil served honorably in the US Navy during the Korean War aboard USS Kearsarge. After leaving the Navy, he dedicated 38 years of service to Civil Service in Logistics Support, retiring in 1997. His strong work ethic and commitment to excellence were evident throughout his career. In addition, he briefly owned Lee & Associates Home Construction, where he made a meaningful impact by helping several families rebuild their homes following the devastating tornado of 1979.

A man of deep faith, Virgil served as an elder emeritus at Highland Heights Christian Church and was an active member of First Christian Church where he was a choir member and a member of the Open Door Bible class.

He was lovingly known as "Paw Paw" not only to his grandchildren, but to many others whose lives he touched.

He will be remembered for his steady presence, generosity, and willingness to lend a helping hand to those in need.

Services will be held at First Christian Church in Wichita Falls on Saturday, May 16th at 10:00 a.m.

Virgil's life was one of quiet strength, devotion, and service, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
