With heavy hearts, we share the passing of ANDREW STEVENS DECKER of Riverside, CA.
A life remembered begins, simply, with the telling.
Time has its way of binding people together.
Andrew Steven Decker, known lovingly to many as Andrewamma, passed away on May 2, 2026, at the age of 43, leaving behind a family, a circle of friends, and a whole lot of memories that will continue to make people smile, laugh, and shake their heads in the best possible way. Born on February 17, 1983, Andrew lived life with the kind of personality that could turn an ordinary room into a scene worth remembering. He was the sort of person who did not simply arrive at family gatherings. He made an entrance, brought the mood, and somehow left everyone with a story to tell later. He carried himself with humor, warmth, and a knack for making everyday life feel like a shared comedy special, complete with great timing and a loyal audience. Andrew proudly claimed the High School of Life as his education, and honestly, that seems fitting for a man who understood people, family, and the art of enjoying the moment. He was an 80s enthusiast through and through, with a special love for 80s cartoons that matched his larger-than-life spirit. If there was a theme song, a throwback joke, or a familiar bit of nostalgia from that era, Andrew was ready to light up. He appreciated the kind of simple joys that never go out of style, especially when they involved good company and something delicious to eat. He loved spending time with his family, and family events were made better simply because Andrew was there. He enjoyed being surrounded by his brothers and sisters, and he valued the laughter, teasing, and togetherness that came with those moments. He especially loved sharing time with Saralee Illan, Adam Decker, Eric Decker, Christy Ruiz, Kerri Beth Miller, Kano miller ,Becky Sternavent, James Irrawain, and Daniel Illan. He also shared close family bonds with Heather Vonzell, José Duran, Bert Ruiz, and the many nieces and nephews who brought even more life and joy into the family circle, including Presley, Jacob Anders Decker, Hayden Vonzell, Chelsey Ruiz, Kaydance Ruiz, and several more nieces and nephews from Tennessee. Andrew understood that family was not just something you had. It was something you showed up for, laughed with, and remembered loudly. And his laugh was infectious . His child like personality and innocence will be surely missed. Andrew had a true appreciation for the good things in life, and he did not pretend otherwise. He loved tacos, pizza, Jack in the Box, and Farmer Boys with the kind of honesty that deserves respect. He was the type of person who knew exactly what he liked and never acted like that was a flaw. In fact, it was part of his charm. He enjoyed life's comfort foods the way he enjoyed his favorite memories, with enthusiasm, loyalty, and no unnecessary complications. If happiness could be ordered from a drive-thru, Andrew would have been a regular. Those who knew Andrew will remember his humor, his love for the 80s, and the way he embraced the people around him. He had a way of making others feel included, entertained, and appreciated. He was not interested in being ordinary, and he certainly was not. He was memorable, funny, and full of personality, the kind of man who left an impression that could not be mistaken for anyone else's. Andrew's life was a reminder that the best legacy is often built from laughter, love, and shared time with the people who matter most. He may have left this world, but the jokes, stories, and memories he created will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him. His family will carry his name forward with love, and his friends will remember him with smiles, because that is what Andrew would have wanted. If heaven has a jukebox, a taco stand, and a rerun block of 80s cartoons, then Andrew is probably already settled in and giving the place a proper review.
