With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Bernice Lee Jones of Rolla, MO.

Some stories deserve to be told slowly. This is one of them.

What is given freely returns in ways we cannot measure.

Bernice Lee Jones, née Moreland, age 95, was born January 23, 1931, and passed away peacefully on April 28, 2026, at her home in Rolla, Missouri, surrounded by her family. She was born to William Elmer and Gladys Cook Moreland in a farmhouse in Vichy, Missouri, and was the oldest daughter of nine children.

She attended Royal School and graduated from St. James High School.

Bernice married the love of her life, Wallace B. "Wally" Jones, on October 25, 1952, in Pocahontas, Arkansas. They shared 73 wonderful years of marriage.

In 1970, Bernice and Wally moved to Rolla, Missouri, where they later took over the Western Auto Store in 1975. After many years, they opened Wally's Mowerworks, where she worked alongside her husband for many years. She was also a faithful member of Greentree Christian Church.

Bernice is survived by her devoted husband, Wally; their son, Terry Jones and his wife, Mary, of Houston, Texas; and their daughter, Teresa Jones and her significant other, Billy Sullivan, of Belleville, Illinois. She was also blessed with an honorary daughter, Stormy Foster (Clifford).

She is lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, whom she adored: Elizabeth Hoppe (Trey), Angela Scofield (Jason), Quinton Bowman (Hannah), Cameron Bowman, and Ethan Jones. She is also survived by her equally adored great-grandchildren: Ford, Hailey, Mary Kate, Heidi, and Lucilia.

She is further survived by two brothers, James Moreland (Helen) of Rolla, Missouri, and Donald Moreland (Stephanie) of Tipp City, Ohio. Surviving brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law include Joy Moreland, Iris Moreland, Glenda Davis, Robert Roach, John and Dixie Jones, Mike and Barbara Jones, and Mary Lou Modde. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Kenneth Moreland (Rachael), Wayne Moreland, William Moreland, Robert Moreland, Margaret Feeler-Ridenhour (Julius and Bill), and Janet Roach.

Special thanks to Stormy Foster (Clifford) and Billy Sullivan for their love and support during this time. The family also extends their gratitude to Amy and Andrea at Phelps Health Hospice, and to Mark Bietsch (Charlotte), for their compassionate care.

The family would also like to thank everyone who called, visited, and offered support.

A funeral service for Bernice L. Jones will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, May 1, 2026 at the Null and Son Funeral Home in Rolla. Interment will follow in the Ozark Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be held prior to the service beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial donations in memory of Bernice are suggested to Greentree Christian Church.
