Bonnie was born on April 4, 1934 in Monroe and passed from this life into Heaven's gates on May 5, 2026.

Bonnie or "Bonnie Faye" as she was affectionately known, lived life to the fullest. She had a heart of pure gold and could always bring a smile to everyone's face, especially when she used her famous sayings like "John Brown it" or How 'bout that". Bonnie attended Ouachita Parish High School and retired from E.A. Conway Hospital after 30+ years working in admissions. After retirement, Bonnie enjoyed spending her free time fishing, sewing, decorating, gardening, reading and playing cards/games with her family. She also enjoyed watching the "old-timey westerns" and classical movies.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Losing her leaves a deep, irreplaceable hole in our hearts and in the fabric of our family, but we cannot help but feel joy and happiness when we think of how beautiful her reunion was in Heaven. Bonnie is now at the feet of Jesus, where she longed to be.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Charles Edward May; son, Charles David "Chuck" May; parents, Burrell and Rosa Ricks; brother, James Ricks; sisters, Alverne Snowden, Vernell Knighten and Glendale Wilson.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter-in-law, Boga May; son, Wayne May (Peggy), daughter, Debra Clayton (Mark); grandchildren, Mandy May, Katie May, Robert Adams, Heather Herring (Justin), Michael Clayton (Shea), Morgan Burke (Frank), Cordel May (Holly) and Samantha May; great-grandchildren, Seth Miller (Ainsley), Shelby Miller, Brooklyn Hamilton, Maddix Clayton, Sadie Clayton, Wyatt Burke, Audrey Herring, and Avery Clayton; great-great-grandchildren, Myla, Jennings and Ella Charles Miller; and a host of other family members and friends.

Honoring Bonnie as pallbearers will be Seth Miller, Michael Clayton, Justin Herring, Mark Clayton, Charles May and Frank Burke.

Honorary pallbearers will be Don Snowden, Troy Snowden, Carl Powell and David Jackson.

"The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to Stoneybrook Memory Care Home for the care provided to Bonnie over the past year. The family would also like to thank the nurses, staff, and doctors at St. Francis Medical Center for the compassion, dignity, and care that was shown to Bonnie in her final days. It meant more to our family than we can fully express."
