A life is more than dates on a stone; here is a small portion of her story.
Memory has a way of softening time.
Delilah Ann Whitt Muncy passed away peacefully at Cabell Huntington Hospital on May 3, 2026. Delilah was know as a devoted and loving housewife and was know to many as Mom, Maw, Mamaw, and A Best Friend and the most cherished name she loved the best was " Crazy Granny" She was proceeded in death by her husband Paul Edward "Big Paul" Muncy, her son Paul Harrison "Little Paul" and an infant daughter Martha Dawn Muncy, her parents Troy Whitt and Dorothy Justice Whitt, brothers Michael "David" Whitt, Larry " Farmer" Whitt, Troy Sester, one sister Evelyn " Kay" Whitt.
She is survived by one loving and devoted daughter and son in law Karin Muncy Reed and Cecil " Punkin" Reed, a very special grandson that she called her son Cecil "Bob the Baby" his wife Melissa and their two girls Nevaeh Reed and Sophia Jade Reed along with 7 other grandchildren Susie Robinette Burchett ( Dustin) Kaitlynn Alissa Robinette, LJ Robinette, Lillie Spelts, Vina Spence ( Nathaniel) and their children.2 grandsons, Brandon Paul Muncy and Aaryn David Muncy, and his son Nash Muncy, her great-grandson. 2 sisters, Sadie Whitt Vinson and LeeAnn Whitt-Lannen. One very special lady who became more than just an in-law, she became family, and it was her Only Best Friend, Lillie Reed.
She's also survived by a host of nieces and nephews, sisters and brothers-in-law, cousins, and friends who became more than family. Maw was a one-of-a-kind special woman who was loved by almost everyone.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 7, 2026 in the Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel with Elijah Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the Family Cemetery, Inez, Kentucky. Friends may visit the Jones-Preston Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Thursday, May 7, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Delilah's memory are asked to be made to Jones-Preston Funeral Home to help defray funeral expenses by contacting Jones-Preston Funeral Home at 606-789-3501.
