The years gathered, as years do, into a life.
Donald Busekros, 85, of Rockford, IL, died Monday, May 4, 2026, at Anam Memory Care. Born October 5, 1940, in Rockford, Donald was the son of Kenneth and Lila (Rydbom) Busekros.
On June 11, 1960, Donald married Karin Busekros at Trinity Luthern Church in Rockford. They lived together until she passed August 20, 2011. Donald was a proud business owner of EWT, Inc. in Rockford for over 45 years. In 1974, he was responsible for the first wire EDM Machine in the country. He was a previous president at the Rock River Valley Tooling and Machining Association. Additionally, he was a multiple car owner and sponsor to many race teams throughout the Midwest. Donald was a respected father.
Donald is survived by his daughter, Kris Powell; sons, Kevin Busekros and Keith (Candi) Busekros; grandchildren, Amanda (Jeffrey Wibbens) Powell, Logan (Sumer) Powell, and Kodee (Itzel) Busekros, and Kelton Busekros; and great-grandchildren, Jayce and Jerzie Powell. He is predeceased by his parents; wife, Karin, son-in-law, Tom Powell; and brother, Larry Busekros.
Visitation will be held Monday, May 11 from 4 to 8 pm at Olson Funeral Home North Main Chapel, 2811 N. Main Street, Rockford, IL 61103. A memorial service will take place Tuesday, May 12 at 10 am at Olson Funeral Home North Main Chapel. Inurnment will be at Arlington Cemetery. Memorials to be determined.
