Donna Sue (Swetnam) Pendergrass, of Leonard, Texas, passed away from natural causes on April 24, 2026, in Greenville, Texas, at the age of 83. Donna was born on April 14, 1943, to parents Max and Mary Swetnam, in Zanesville, Ohio. She was the middle child: little sister to Dick Swetnam and older sister to Amy Swetnam.

She attended Austin College in Sherman, Texas, and graduated from Southeastern Oklahoma State in 1974. She married Jerry Shaffer in 1962. With him, she had two children. Her firstborn she named Kyle, and her secondborn she named Jenni. Donna and Jerry divorced. She later married Rick Pendergrass, and they adopted their son Logan, who became a United States Marine. Donna spent her career working for Atrium Aluminum in Irving, Texas.

Donna is survived by her sister, Amy; her son, Kyle; her son, Logan; her daughter, Jenni; her son-in-law, Matthew; her grandsons, Isaac, Zach, and Joel; her sister-in-law Anita; her nephew, Dean; and her niece, Deanna. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Dick.

The family will welcome guests for a visitation from 5-7 PM on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at Turrentine Jackson Morrow, 701 North Cedar Street, Leonard, Texas 75452. A funeral service will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at Turrentine Jackson Morrow Funeral Home, with a burial at Friendship Cemetery in Sherman, Texas to follow.

Pallbearers for Donna's service are Kyle Shaffer, Matthew Hammer, Isaac Hammer, Zachary Hammer, Joel Hammer, Dean Swetnam, and Bill Capshaw.

Turrentine Jackson Morrow has been entrusted with the arrangements.
