Services for Ms. Eleanor Moultrie, 99, of Hampton, Virginia, formerly from Camden, South Carolina, to be announced at a later date. "A joy to be around, a dynamic educator, and a devoted servant of the Lord." Eleanor Beatrice Moultrie was born on July 18, 1926, in Newark and raised in Camden, South Carolina. She graduated from Jackson High School and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Benedict College. She built a distinguished 37-year career with the District of Columbia Public Schools, inspiring countless students. Committed to lifelong learning, she earned a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education and pursued doctoral studies at George Washington University. Later in life, she moved to Hampton, where she was lovingly cared for by family (Barbara and Matthew Meredith) and close friends (Wendy Harvey and Sheila Clayton). A devoted member of Campbell African Methodist Episcopal Church in Washington, D.C. for over fifty years, Eleanor served faithfully in the Senior Choir and the Lucille E. Dale Women's Missionary Society. In recognition of her dedication, the Senior Camp was renamed in her honor. Eleanor's warmth, wisdom, and faith touched many lives. She leaves behind a lasting legacy of service and will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and church community. And special thanks to Caregiver Betty Burrell for her kindness and service.
