George spent his working life as ['semi truck driver for most of his career'] — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew him best.

George H. Randall, Jr., 85, of Republic, Missouri, formerly of Moline, Illinois, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 4, 2026, at home.Visitation is 9:00 to 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, May 12, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Burial will follow at Rock Island National Cemetery with the Vietnam Veterans of the Quad Cities presenting military honors. Memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans.George Harold Randall, Jr. was born November 9, 1940, in Moline, the son of George Harold Sr. and Eva Violet (Newman) Randall. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He married Jo Ann “Jody” Inskeep on February 10, 1959, in Rapids City, Illinois. The couple had five children and shared 37 wonderful years together prior to her passing on June 11, 1996. He later married Nancy (Nixon) Safemaster on May 7, 2011, bringing George much happiness for nearly 15 years.He worked as a semi truck driver for most of his career, spending over 20 years driving for Carstensen Freight Lines. His career drove one of his hobbies, collecting mini semi’s. He also enjoyed model trains and wood crafting.George is survived by his wife, Nancy Randall of Republic; four children, Deborah (Steven) Weede of Moline, Rickey Randall of East Moline, Diana (C.J. Jones) Wood of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Marilyn Randall-Carter of Gulfport, Mississippi; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and brothers, James (Eileen) Randall, Sr. of New Windsor, Illinois, and Jerry A. Randall, Sr. of Moline. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jody Randall; his son, Rodney Randall; grandson, Kenneth Krause, Jr.; and sister, Janice Randall.The family invites friends to share stories and condolences at TrimbleFuneralHomes.com.
